Computer Repair or Replacement

If your computer or laptop has been damaged by an accident and you are covered by insurance we can help you get your equipment repaired or replaced. These days insurance companies are quick to respond to your insurance covered equipment.

Protecting Your Computer Equipment

These days it is more important than ever to cover your computer, or laptop and equipment from accidental damage, or from being lost or stolen. For a very reasonable fee you can be covered so that your computer equipment can be repaired or replaced without delay.

More than 70,000 computers are stolen each year in the UK, and more than 100,000 are accidentally damaged. If you are a business consultant or travel alot on business with a laptop you know how important it is to your business, and if it was lost, stolen or damaged without insurance you would be well out of pocket. It is not only small business users and consultants that suffer, individuals are also relying on laptops more than ever before.

Buying a new computer can be expensive so ensure your new purchase is protected with insurance. Therefore it is sensible, before buying a computer, to investigate how much it will cost you to protect your new investment from a range of warranty and insurance providers.

Warranties v computer insurance

Remember you do not have to take the product seller's warranty policy and don't be fooled, or pressured into thinking you have to. They can often be the most expensive option, and if you are getting your computer equipment on hire purchase it can add to the cost considerably. If you have taken out or intend to purchase a warranty policy ensure that it comes with at least one year's theft insurance.

What do you do when it has run out and is up for renewal? After your term has finished - and the minimum is generally one year - it is worth exploring the other options available to you.

All insurers recommend you do not insure your computer on your house insurance especially if you own a laptop, as the risk attached to the theft of laptops is far higher. Insurers will not honour a claim if a computer is stolen while outside your house and should you need to make a claim on your house insurance you would see a substantial increase in your premium when it comes to the policy renewal date.

Computer insurance policies provide the highest level of protection and value for money. When comparing policies check whether there is any excess to pay and if there is a long list of complicated exclusions. The simplest policies just calculate the premium on the value of the equipment being insured.

If you use the computer on a more professional basis or travel with your laptop - especially if you travel abroad - then computer insurance is a vital requirement.

What you need to look out for when buying Computer Insurance:
